🍌Almond Flour Banana Muffins

Soft and naturally sweet, family-friendly, these muffins have a smooth texture that works especially well for kids or anyone who prefers a simple bite. My daughter doesn’t like any nuts or crunchy mix-ins in her muffins, so these are my go-to for her breakfasts in a hurry. She loves them with a glass of milk.

They’re one of those easy almond flour muffins you’ll come back to again and again.

🍌🌰Almond Flour Banana Muffins with Walnuts

TThis version adds walnuts for a bit of crunch while keeping the same fluffy muffin base as the simple banana muffins. Perfect if you like a little texture in your muffins. I personally love a good crunch, so I make half batch with nuts and half without, so everyone in my family can enjoy them.

🫐Almond Flour Blueberry Muffins

My favorite flavor. Light, fluffy, and filled with juicy berries, these almond flour blueberry muffins are a classic option that works well for breakfast or an easy snack.

They bake beautifully in a muffin tin with that soft, tender crumb. And are so good for you, all those healthy fats from almonds and vitamins from blueberries, no added refined sugar, instead I use natural sweeteners like unrefined organic coconut sugar or for a lower-carb option, organic allulose powder.

🍫 Almond Flour Chocolate Chip Muffins

These are a little bit indulgent, I love them with a cup of tea in the afternoon. You know when you get that 3 pm tired feeling, and you need a little sweet pick-me-up? Well, these are just perfect for that. Who needs sugary biscuits when you can actually have something healthy that hits the spot?

Soft, fluffy, and packed with chocolate chips, these muffins feel like a treat while still being made with simple ingredients. You can use coconut sugar or opt for a lower-carb version with sugar-free chocolate chips for low-carb muffins or keto muffins.

🎃 Almond Flour Pumpkin Muffins

Warm, lightly spiced, and slightly richer in texture, these muffins are perfect when you’re after something cosy. I make these a lot in the fall when pumpkins are all around, but of course, you can make them any time. Pumpkin puree adds even more fiber and vitamins while helping them stay moist and soft even when stored for a few days.

They’re a great gluten-free option that still feels indulgent enough for a sweet treat.

How to Choose the Perfect Almond Flour Muffin Flavor

If you’re not sure where to start, here’s a quick way to choose:

  • If you want something simple and naturally sweet → go for banana muffins, they’re always an easy win.
  • Prefer some crunch in your muffins? → try banana nut muffins, same flavor, but with a bit of crunch. Or you can make a half-and-half batch, as I do.
  • If you want something fresh and fruity → blueberry muffins are a great option. These are super nice for breakfast.
  • Need to satisfy that sweet tooth → chocolate chip muffins are always a good idea with a cup of coffee or tea. It kind of feels like you are having a hot-cross bun.
  • If you want something cosy and spiced → pumpkin muffins are perfect.

All of these use a similar base, so once you try one, you’ll feel more confident trying the others next time.

Tips for Best Results

  • Use blanched almond flour for the best texture; don’t use coarse almond meal, as it will make the almond flour muffin recipes denser.

  • Don’t skip the yogurt, it’s the secret to making them fluffy and soft. The acid of yogurt reacts with baking soda and gives these muffins a lift and bounce, making them very nice to bite into.

  • Let ingredients like eggs and yogurt come to room temperature before adding to the batter.

  • Avoid overmixing the muffin batter; mix only enough to incorporate ingredients.

  • Use paper liners or grease muffin cups well
Store leftovers in a sealed container for 5-6 days. Yes, they keep very well in the fridge for a while and won’t go hard or dry if you cover them well.

Common Questions About Almond Flour Muffins

Are almond flour muffins gluten-free?

Yes, almond flour is naturally gluten-free, making these muffins a great option if you’re avoiding wheat. There is nothing in these muffins that contains gluten.

Why are almond flour muffins sometimes more dense?

Almond flour doesn’t behave like regular flour, so the texture can be slightly denser. However, with the right balance of wet ingredients, you still get soft and fluffy muffins. Use the Greek yogurt trick I teach you in the recipes, and you will get a fluffy muffin every time.

Yes, many of these recipes can be adapted into lower-carb muffins depending on the sweetener you use. Check out each recipe where I recommend how to make them without added sugar.
